The 2026 Glitch National Student Juried Design Competition is an annual contest hosted by AIGA MSU, a Mississippi chapter of AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Arts), the professional association for design. As an Honorable Mention Award winner in the category of Book/Publication, Micoda (Coda) Turner's book cover design was included in a physical show, which ran from February 27 - March 5, 2026 at the Mississippi State Old Main Gallery in Starkville, Mississippi. The design is also part of an online gallery, which you can view by visiting the Glitch 2026 site and clicking on “Honorable Mention Gallery." His work is listed under Book/Publication.
Coda is Media Arts major with a concentrationin graphic design. This winning project was created in December 2025 as the final project in MDA 249 Introduction to Graphic Design. It's a reimagined book cover for Vagabond, a critically acclaimed manga by Takehiko Inoue. This design is typical of Coda's work in that it is grounded in beautiful illustration. He used the iPad app Procreate to draw a clever, striking portrait of the protagonist in connection with key, symbolic imagery from the book. He then integrated these images with the typographic elements in Adobe InDesign.
Congratulations, Coda! We are proud of your work and excited to see Crown's first national award in graphic design.
