Andrew Sappia, Gavin Leuthold, Noah Larson, and Sam Williams at the Student Production Awards ceremony.

Crown junior Noah Larson has won a Student Production Award in the Solo Storyteller category for his documentary The Story of Coach Franz. The award was presented by the Upper Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, which serves a five-state region including Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, and western Wisconsin.

Noah accepted the award at the 15th Annual Upper Midwest Emmy Foundation Student Production Awards ceremony in St. Paul, Minnesota. He was joined by three other Crown students who were also nominated.

We are proud of the production value and storytelling demonstrated in Noah’s winning documentary. Beyond its technical excellence, we are especially excited that Crown's first Student Production Award was given to a film that captures the essence of what makes Crown a special place. It features the compelling testimony and faith journey of our head football coach Anthony Franz, who is doing is doing amazing things in the lives of our students.

Please join us in congratulating Noah Larson and all of our 2026 nominees. We're grateful for this recognition (thank you, NATAS!) and eager to continue our pursuit of excellence in the studio and classroom.
