This semester, students in MDA 329 Cinematography will get hands-on experience with this new gear, pairing the Pictor Zooms with our Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro 4.6K cinema camera and lighting their projects with our new Aputure 600d and 300d monolights.
The Pictor Zooms are built to be mechanically and optically consistent, which will help filmmakers focus on composition and movement rather than on unpredictable lens behavior. The Aputure lights will also give our students experience with fixtures known for strong color accuracy and precise dimming control, allowing them to match their sources easily and make fine adjustments on set.
These equipment upgrades continue our commitment to ensuring that students show up on professional sets already comfortable with industry equipment and practices.
