Media Arts Students Behind the Camera at LIFE

July 23, 2025
Noah Larson and Andrew Sappia spent a week in Indianapolis working on the video production team for the 2025 LIFE Conference.

The conference ran July 4–8 and brought together over 5,500 teenagers and youth leaders from across the country. Noah and Andrew were on the testimony crew at the Indianapolis Convention Center, filming personal stories of God at work in the lives of attendees.

Crown’s relationship with the LIFE Conference started in 2022 when a Crown student served in the testimony room, recording stories for students to bring back to their home churches. When the organizers reached out again this year asking if we had students who were looking for production experience, Noah and Andrew leapt at the opportunity.

"I loved being able to work with a professional video team, and because of the position I was in, I was able to see how God was working in the lives of the students in real time."
- Andrew Sappia ('27)

Andrew described the experience as energizing. His week included learning to operate a new cinema camera—the Canon EOS C200, adjusting to a non-stop production pace, and experiencing how a conference media team runs behind the scenes. The trip also opened him up to the possibility of doing a summer internship with the Christian and Missionary Alliance in the future.

Noah valued the perspective he gained from the testimony room. Though he didn’t see most of the conference firsthand, his vantage point allowed him to hear story after story of how God was working in attendees’ lives. The footage they captured will be used at the student's churches for encouragement and to promote the conference.

Experiences like this are an important part of the Media Arts program at Crown College: real production contexts, meaningful collaboration, and opportunities that help students develop their skills. Both Andrew and Noah said they would recommend serving on the LIFE Conference media team to other Media Arts majors. We’re proud of them for representing Media Arts at Crown and look forward to partnering with LIFE in the years ahead!
